Ten months ago a company appeared on the landscape
with a revolutionary new design product. Quickly,
it became the standard for web designers looking for
a design advantage when building (or maintaining websites).
No longer were design recommendations debated over.
Web design is now done based on the exact technical
profiles of the visitors to the site, rather than
guesswork or hunches.
That company was Buystream.
The product was named Architect. Browser based technical
profiles were far more dynamic than the standard log
analysis reports. Many unique features emerged with
this product. Browsers were not only now defined,
but what version of the browser was now recognized.
All plug ins were now listed, which provided fantastic
up-sell opportunities for designers, and great strategy
opportunities for marketing experts looking to optimize
web usability. For speed, Architect aggregated page
down load times and then provided a percentage of
pages that were being downloaded completely a key
metric for measuring website design effectiveness.
Within six months of releasing Architect, and its
one point technical snapshots of visitors, Buystream
stretched the playing field again. Last March they
released Merchant.two points of data capture. With
Merchant, data is captured at the entry point of the
site and again at the point of conversion (most often
the buy page). An artificial intelligence immediately
looks for technical trends in real time. Observations
for improved ease in navigation are immediately generated,
combined with warnings if a site is losing visitors.
Visitor technical data is then collected in five categories:
- 1 Geography - what time zone?
- 2 Language - language of the browser and the
operating system
- 3 -Techno cluster - Bandwidth capability, download
speed, plug ins, browsers, plus more
- 4- Time of day - are people visiting from home
or from work / when do they buy?
- 5- Loyalty index -how many visits before a visitor
converts to a buyer?
Watch this company very closely. In September they
will be releasing Merchant 2.0.
This powerful new product will now be able to provide
analytics to measure affiliate success by measuring
referring URL s with a dollar figure attached! Which
banner ads are bringing buyers, compared to which
banner ads drive visitors with a propensity to abandon
their carts? What search engine is bringing actual
buyers? As always, Buystream
will allow the owner of the site to customize the
metrics they want to watch closely. Simply click
the refresh button and all your data will be updated.
Contact them now, the buzz is already everywhere in
the web community. ASP and Enterprise models exist.
